Rs 130 crore allocated to districts for recovery and reconstruction works

The State government has approved a sum of Rs 130 crore comprising Rs 10 crore at the disposal of each district magistrate for recovery and reconstruction works under the State disaster response fund for the 2024 monsoon season. The Disaster Management secretary has been directed to ensure that the sum is allocated immediately to the districts. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed all the district magistrates to ensure that the reconstruction of all assets damaged in disasters is done at the earliest using the funds approved, adding that no delay will be tolerated in this work. It will be recalled that during a meeting held recently to review the impact of monsoon, Dhami had directed officials to ensure that works related to disaster are executed on a priority basis. He had directed that the funds required for repairs and reconstruction should be provided to all the districts. Following the allocation of Rs 130 crore, the CM said that the government is fully prepared to tackle disasters with all departments also having prepared properly. “The intention of the government is clear- to ensure minimum problems to the citizens due to disasters. Rescue and relief works are also being executed promptly after disasters. There will not be any budgetary constraints in works related to disasters. All the district magistrates have been directed that the general public does not face any problems related to the supply of electricity, drinking water, food grains, medical treatment and other facilities during the monsoon season,” he said.
