Rs 6.95 crore transferred to 5,747 beneficiaries under MVY

Following the direction of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the minister of Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD), Rekha Arya, digitally transferred Rs 6.95 crore to 5,747 beneficiaries under the Mukhayamantri Vatsalya Yojana (MVY) on Thursday. Notably, under the MVY, children from birth to 21 years who lost their parents due to a serious disease or during the Covid-19 pandemic are provided with Rs 3,000 per month.
Speaking on the occasion Arya stated that the state government is working tirelessly for the welfare of children. Providing details, the WECD minister said that a total of Rs 6.95 crores has been digitally transferred. This amount has been distributed to 5,868 beneficiaries in March 2024, 5,805 beneficiaries in April 2024, 5,771 beneficiaries in May 2024, and 5,747 beneficiaries in June 2024 as part of the MVY initiated by the state government.
She further added that under the scheme, financial assistance of Rs three thousand per month is being given to orphan children until the age of 21 years. This initiative is being carried out through the WECD department. In addition, other provisions have also been made for such children, including free education, food items, skill development, health facilities, and horizontal reservation in government services. She further expressed gratitude towards the chief minister for consistently working towards the interest of the state’s children.
