The fares of local public transportation might be raised soon as the regional transport office (RTO) of Dehradun has prepared a proposal for the same to present to the State Transport department.
The regional transport officer (administration) Dinesh Chandra Pathoi informed that the department has prepared the proposal for the hike in the fares of all the public transports like electric rickshaws, city buses, Vikrams, auto rickshaws and others after the discussion with the heads of various transport associations in the district.
According to him, the RTO will discuss the fare in the meeting with senior officials of the State Transport Authority (STA) only after the approval from the department. The final decisions will be taken only after discussion with all the officials in the STA meeting, informed Pathoi.
