The regional transport office (RTO) of Dehradun imposed penalties on 106 e-rickshaws and seized 27 for their operation against the rules.
The transport office was consistently receiving complaints regarding illicit operations of e-rickshaws considering which five teams and four bike squads held a checking campaign on Wednesday, said the regional transport officer (enforcement) Shailesh Tiwari.
He said that the department will continue acting against such violations in future too.
