Rudra Ecovation: Revolutionizing sustainability in India’s textile industry

India’s textile industry is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by the government’s policies and guidelines promoting sustainability. Among the world’s top plastic polluters, India is taking concrete steps to reduce its environmental footprint. Rudra Ecovation, a pioneer in the recycling industry, is leading the charge by betting big on sustainability. With a state-of-the-art 100-acre facility in Ludhiana, Rudra has created the largest integrated plastic recycling plant in India. The company boasts an impressive recycling capacity of 8.8 million plastic bottles daily, producing 320,000 square metres of knitted RPET fabric. Rudra’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its daily production capacity, which includes a range of products such as washline bottles, flakes to fibre and technical textiles.

Speaking on this,  Rudra Ecovation chairman Akhil Malhotra said “At Rudra Ecovation, we are overwhelmed by the response we have received for Anaura (Upcycled Fabric) amongst various national and international brands, at the recently held Heimtextile 2025 in Frankfurt, we participated at the exhibition in the line with our export goals, it’s a matter of pride and at the same time it’s a big responsibility for us to take an Indian product at an  international platform to boost the make in India initiative.”

Rudra’s innovative approach to sustainability is driven by the use of cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence (AI). By integrating AI, the company can predict sample quality before production begins, saving time and costs while guaranteeing top-quality output. Rudra’s dedication to sustainability has earned it an ESG score of 73 in an independent audit, underscoring its excellence in environmental, social, and governance practices.

The company is focused on refining the properties of RPET fibres to match or surpass conventional alternatives. Its product mix includes products like Anaura Upcycled fabric range with varied width for variety of usage like sportswear, fashion, home furnishing and non-woven carpets.
