Rudranath temple vandalised by unknown miscreants

The shrine of Rudranath, which is one of the Panch Kedar temples in Uttarakhand has been vandalised. The identity of the person responsible for the vandalisation of the important shrine located in the high altitude area of Chamoli district is not yet known. A team of the Kedarnath forest division has reached the site. The main door of the shrine has been broken and items inside have been scattered around. The iron channel gate of the temple has also been damaged. Apart from the damage caused to the shrine, the main door of the Dharmshala has also been broken. The priest of Rudranath temple, Harish Bhatt and traditional right holders have demanded that the Kedarnath forest division and the Chamoli district administration should conduct a detailed probe into this incident. It is pertinent to mention here that this is the first such case of vandalism in the Rudranath temple.
