Pilgrims undertaking the Hemkund Sahib Yatra have said that the pilgrimage is continuing smoothly, adding that some persons are affecting the environment by spreading rumours on social media simply to gain views.
Sukhbir Kaur from Punjab, who undertook the pilgrimage with her family members said that she began the Yatra on June 19. Many people alerted her regarding the pilgrimage. Sharing her experience on Tuesday after reaching Govindghat while returning, Kaur said that she did not face any problem during the pilgrimage. The local administration and Gurudwara management committee are conducting the pilgrimage properly with adequate arrangements for medical treatment, accommodation and meals. Stating that the locals are also fully cooperating, she said that this clearly shows that some people are spreading rumours regarding the pilgrimage simply to gain more social media views.
Other visitors also shared similar views, adding that all the necessary facilities are being provided despite the crowds. They said that rumours are being spread regarding the pilgrimage whereas in reality the Yatra is continuing peacefully as it was in the past.
