The Himalayan College of Nursing (HCN) organised an awareness campaign on National Safe Motherhood Day under the theme “Together, Let’s Play Our Role for Respectful Motherhood Care” on Saturday. During the campaign, women participated in a quiz competition held to provide them with health-related information. Apart from this, the Community Health Department of HCN conducted an awareness campaign on World Health Day. MSC students informed people about maintaining a healthy lifestyle through plays and house-to-house visits. In addition, a poster exhibition was held in the college auditorium, displaying topics like healthy lifestyles and the importance of cleanliness.
The chief medical superintendent at Doiwala community health centre Dr KS Bhandari informed that the objective of celebrating Safe Motherhood Day is to spread awareness about maternal health and care, provide high-quality health services to mothers and promote safe childbirth.
