The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has said that the incident of alleged gang rape in the Sahaspur area of Dehradun has shamed ‘Devbhoomi ‘ Uttarakhand.  The PCC president went to the residence of the victim on Sunday but he could not meet her since the house was locked. Talking to the media persons, Singh said that the incident highlights the pathetic condition of law and order in the state. He said that home ministry in the state is headed by the chief minister himself. Launching an attack on the state government, the PCC president said that the state government has proved to be a failure in every front. He said that the government talked about doubling the income of farmers but ended up bringing draconian farm laws against whom the farmers are up in arms. Singh said that the state government has failed to provide employment and failed miserably in disaster management. The development too is at standstill and the sloppy management of Covid-19 pandemic has exposed the state government.

On the incidents of Hathras and Balrampur in Uttar Pradesh, the PCC president said that the whole country is agitated. He said that the way the dead body of the victim was cremated in the middle of the night without the consent of her relatives shows the inhuman face of the government.  He said that the police misbehaved with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi when they wanted to visit Hathras and the Congress party strongly condemns it.
