Soldier Welfare minister Ganesh Joshi said that the grand Sainya Dham being constructed in Guniyalgaon, Dehradun, in honour of soldiers will also serve as a centre of inspiration and devotion for individuals across the country. Stating this while paying tribute to Rajpur resident martyr rifleman Manoj Rana on his 13th death anniversary, Joshi also laid the foundation stone for a Martyr’s Gate in Rana’s memory.
He stated that a grand Martyr’s Gate, designed in the Pahari style, will be constructed in his memory at a cost of Rs 27 lakh through the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA).
“Under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the modernisation of the Indian Army has taken a new direction, with unprecedented efforts being made towards achieving self-reliance in the defense sector,” Joshi stated. He also said that under the leadership of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the State government is implementing various schemes for the honour and welfare of soldiers and their families.
Rana was serving with the 15 RR, 2/4 Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army when in 2013, he made the supreme sacrifice while combating terrorists in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir.
