Sample positivity rate increasing in U’khand
23 new patients reported on Wednesday

The sample positive rate of Covid-19 is continuing to increase in Uttarakhand. On Wednesday, 1,263 swab samples were tested for Covid-19 were tested in different labs of the state and out of them 23 were found positive. The Health department reported a sample positivity of 1.82 per cent on Wednesday. The positivity rate was 1.29 per cent on Tuesday.
No death from the infection was reported by the Health department in the state on the day. The authorities also declared 19 patients recovered from the disease on the day. The department has so far detected 92,462 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 88,844 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 275 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 96.09 per cent on Wednesday. The health department reported 14 new patients from Dehradun, three from Haridwar, two each from Pauri and Udham Singh Nagar and one each from Nainital and Tehri on Wednesday. No new cases were reported from the remaining seven districts of the state on the day.
Dehradun with 83 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Nainital has eight and Haridwar seven active cases of the disease. Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag districts have no active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 17,549 people were vaccinated in 933 sessions in the state held on Wednesday.
