Sandhu directs timely completion of development works in Gairsain

The chief secretary SS Sandhu has directed officials to ensure that infrastructural and development works in the summer capital Gairsain are completed on time. He said this while chairing a meeting to review the progress of infrastructure development in Garisain. Discussions on installation of 12.5 metre  LED high-mast lights in different wards of Gairsain Nagar Panchayat, installation of single arm-pole street lights on the national highway and State highways, solar lights, construction of chief engineer base camp building in the residential colony of irrigation subdivision Gairsain and beautification of Assembly building of Gairsain were held in the meeting.  

Speaking on the occasion, Sandhu said that the national highway 109 which is used by the pilgrims and the tourists of Garhwal and Kumaon divisions visiting Badrinath, Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib passes through Gairsain so special focus should be laid on developing infrastructure facilities here. He said that the development of high class facilities would benefit the local population, tourists, travellers and the employees associated with administrative arrangements during the Vidhan Sabha sessions. On a stern note the chief secretary directed the officers concerned to ensure that all the infrastructural development works are completed in time. He added that there should be no compromise on the quality of the construction works.

 The meeting was attended by additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, secretary HC Semwal and senior officers of Irrigation, Agriculture and Urban Development departments.
