Sangats start arriving for Jhanda Fair in Dehradun

The process of arriving of Sangats ( groups of devotees)  at Shri Darbar Sahib for the famous Jhanda fair has started.

Devotees from various parts of the country especially Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan have started arriving in the city. 

The Shri Jhande Ji mela organizing committee has estimated that this year lakhs devotees will attend the fair.    On Saturday, Mahant Devendra Das gave his darshan to the Sangat devotees. He also released necessary directions to the Mela committee.

The chief manager of the mela committee, Madhusudan Semwal informed that 42 CCTV cameras have been installed at the Mela premises. He said that a team of doctors and nursing staff of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital will also be on duty from Monday at the Mela Hospital to take care of medical needs of the public. Free medicines will also be distributed by the team of the Hospital.

On Sunday the devotees will carry the new flag pole from SGRR Public School, Bombay Bagh to THDC chowk to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital then to Lal Pul. The holy pole will then be carried to darbar Sahib. The Jhanda fair will commence on March 19 with hoisting of the pole.
