Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev said that his duty as a Sanyasi is to make the nation healthy and prosperous while inculcating values among the citizens. He said this at the event held to mark his 31st Sanyas Diwas along with a Navratri Yagya at Patanjali here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramdev said, “Today I have completed 30 years as a Sanyasi and entering my 31st year in this life. The Sanyasi has only one Dharma- observing Rashtradharm, Sevadharm and Yugdharm through Yogadharm to make the nation healthy and prosperous while also inculcating values. This is the reason for Patanjali Yogpeeth’s consistent focus on prosperity based on cultural values.”

Addressing the gathering, Acharya Balkrishna said that after taking up Sanyas, Swami Ramdev had enhanced the prestige of Indian culture, tradition and values across the world. He has strived to introduce the global community to the glorious tradition of Bharat, he said.

A process was also held on the occasion which saw the participation of various Sanyasis alon with Ramdev, Balkrishna, Diya Yog Mandir Rammulakh Darbar’s Yogacharya Swami Lal and others. The procession concluded on the banks of the Ganga river.

Earlier, during a special Navratri and Ram Navami programme, Ramdev and Balkrishna ritually worshipped invited girls by washing their feet and feeding them. Ramdev said, “Bharat is the land of Sanatan culture, Rishi tradition, Ram and Krishna and Ma Bhawani. We must destroy dark demonic forces and negative thoughts while trying to inculcate a character like Lord Ram.”
