Saras Aajeevika Mela to conclude today in Rishikesh

The Saras Aajeevika Mela 2023 will conclude on Thursday in Muni Ki Reti in Rishikesh which is currently hosting a total of 142 self-help groups from 18 states of the country. The fair commenced on October 3 and was organised by the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) and Uttarakhand State Rural Livelihood Mission (USRLM) along with the Tehri district administration.
The officials informed that 192 stalls have been installed in the fair that depicts the essence of tradition, art, craft and culture of various parts of the country. Out of these 142 SHGs that participated in the fair, 97 belong to Uttarakhand and the remaining 47 belong to other 18 states. They said that a total of 6,668 village organisations and 409 cluster-level organizations are growing under USRLM in which thousands of women are working on different aspects like livelihood promotion activities, innovation and sustainability besides cultural and traditional aspects.
Besides this, the local traditional cuisine of Uttarakhand and a rich variety of delicacies from other states are also available for visitors to the fair. The fair has already recorded a sale of about Rs two crore in just 10 days which is a financial triumph for all women and associated people with SHGs. It also shows the acceptance and success of the diverse collection of products showcased by SHGs at the fair. This showcases the rural brilliance and epitomises the spirit of a thriving united India, said the officials.
