SC judgement endorses corruption in VS recruitments: Thapar

Congress leader Abhinav Thapar has said that the rejection of Special Leave Petition (SLP) of the terminated employees of Vidhan Sabha by the Supreme Court on Friday has underlined the fact that corruption has occurred in appointments in Vidhan Sabha secretariat. Thapar has filed a Public Interest Petition (PIL) in the Uttarakhand High Court in which he said that an inquiry headed by a sitting judge of HC should be ordered in the backdoor appointments in Vidhan Sabha. He demanded that the State government should now inform the SC about the violation of norms in the appointments in VS from the year 2000 to 2022. “The government should also tell as to what action it has taken the ministers and officers responsible for this loot of public money,’’ he asked.

Thapar said that the VS speaker had terminated 272 employees of Vidhan Sabha appointed after the year 2016 on the basis of the recommendation of a committee. He claimed that the scam in recruitments in VS is going on from the year 2000 and the government has maintained a stoic silence on these appointments. Thapar demanded that an inquiry headed by a sitting judge of HC should be ordered in the appointments made in VS from the year 2000 to 2022.
