School Education Dept to recruit 8,000 teachers: minister

The Education and Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that the vacant posts of teachers in the school education department will be soon filled. The minister attended a programme organised on the occasion of Harela at the government inter college Rudraprayag on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the State government is continuously trying to improve the quality of education in the State. He said that the paucity of teachers in the schools of the State would soon be removed and for it recruitment of 8,000 teachers in the government schools of the State would be done. Rawat added that 2,500 posts of class IV employees in the education department will be filled by outsource.
The minister further informed that a human resource portal for the benefit of the teachers is being prepared. The entire data of teachers will be available in online mode in the portal. Rawat said that the teachers will be able to submit their complaints regarding leave facility, character rolls, promotion and others on the portal. The minister claimed that more than 4,500 teachers were transferred this year as per the option given in their application which is a record. The transfers were done as per the policy.
The minister said that Harela is part of our rich culture and it inspires everyone to live in close proximity with the nature. He said that Harela week is being organised on a major scale in all the government schools and colleges and plantation drives are being organised. The students are being encouraged for environment conservation and protection. He announced that the environment conservation will be added in the syllabus of the students in the schools of the State.
The minister appealed that all the teachers, parents and the students should at least plant one tree. He planted a sapling of Amla in the campus of the school. On reaching the school the minister inquired about the staff, vacant posts, text books, uniform and other things. He also interacted with the students and asked about their studies and the mid day meal provided to them. The president of district panchayat Amardei Shah, MLA Bharat Chaudhary, chief education officer VP Simalti, district education officer Jitendra Saxena and others were present on the occasion.
