The letter of the CEO states that a fine of Rs one lakh has been imposed on the school for violation of rules. If the said violation continues, the institution will have to pay Rs 10,000 penalty per day from the day of receiving the letter. Bharadwaj has asked the institution management to deposit the penalty money in the treasury and present the receipt to the CEO’s office. If the school fails to do this, necessary action will be taken and a report will be lodged against the school principal/manager in the police station. Bharadwaj told this correspondent that as per the provisions of the RTE Act2009, under Uttarakhand Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules 2011, the accreditation for running classes I to VIII is given by the CEO’s office. However, St Thomas school in Pauri was conducting these classes without getting accreditation.
