In latest news from Dehradun, the State education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the government is all set to open units of scout guides in medical institutions, Sanskrit schools and madrassas aside from school education and higher education institutions across the State. He further said that the scout guides would not just discharge familial and social responsibilities but would take part vigorously in national programmes. The State government has set a target of registering over one lakh scout guides by the year 2025. The State education department officers said that Uttarakhand may get the opportunity to host the 11th International Asia-Pacific Region Scout Leaders Summit in 2024 and proposals for building regional office, vehicles and infrastructural facilities for the scout guides would be sent soon to the administration.
