The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) has directed the Education department in Nainital district and Madarsa board to investigate a Madarsa which has allegedly been operated illegally for about the past 13 years in the Veerbhatti area of Nainital district. The students have also alleged that they were being mistreated by the officials of the institution. Member of SCPCR Vinod Kaparwan informed that a recent case involving the Madarsa in Nainital district has come to the commission’s attention. It has been reported that this school is not registered with the Madarsa board and lacks proper sanitisation measures for the well-being of students. In light of this, the commission has instructed the Education department in Naintal district and the Madarsa board to promptly investigate the matter. Additionally, the commission has received multiple complaints regarding Madarsas across the state. During inspections of various Madarsas, it has been observed that the students lack knowledge and are afraid to speak the truth, he added.
Kaparwan further said that to improve the condition of the Madarsas across the State, he would suggest that they should adopt the Indian education policy instead of teaching according to any other particular system.
