The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has found a human foot three kilometres away from Gawad village of Tehri district during the search operation for the missing people on Friday. The area was severely affected after a flash flood and landslide triggered by a cloudburst last week in the Dehradun district and nearby areas. The commandant of the SDRF, Manikant Mishra informed that the recovered foot has been handed over to the police to conduct the necessary procedure to identify the deceased. He said that intensive search is being carried out at every possible place by the SDRF’s flood team, dog squad and deep divers. Mishra also said that in view of the yellow alert issued by the Meteorological Department in the state, all posts under SDRF have been directed to stay on alert mode.

He said that in-charges of all posts have been directed to ensure quick response to every minor and major incident. They have been directed to keep the satellite phones close along with all the necessary rescue equipment to ensure proper communication can be maintained even in remote areas during rescue operations.
