The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Wednesday finally recovered bodies of three men eight days after they died by drowning in two different incidents on Holi in Rishikesh. The officials said that two 22-year-old young men, Aditya Raj and Utkarsh, went to bathe near the river at Shivpuri Namami Gange Ghat of Rishikesh on March 8. Both were BTech students of DIT University in Dehradun and belonged to Kolkata and Agra respectively.

The officials said that on March 8, both went deep into the river while bathing and drowned in the process. The deep diving team of SDRF was searching for their bodies for the past eight days and finally recovered them on Wednesday. The body of the third deceased was found in Pashulok Barrage on Wednesday. The officials said that some locals noticed a body in the barrage and informed the police.

The SDRF was sent to retrieve the body which was later identified as the body of Sushobhit Yadav (32), resident of Moradabad, who drowned in the Patna Waterfall in Lakshmanjhula area on Holi after he allegedly slipped and fell into the river. The officials informed that families of the deceased have identified the bodies too after which police sent them for post-mortem.
