The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Sunday rescued two cows stuck in the Ganga river in Rishikesh on Sunday. The officials informed that a team of SDRF was conducting a search operation near Neem Beach for a youth reported to have drowned when they observed many people standing near the river in the Bahattar Seedhi area. On inspecting the site, the team found out that two cows were stuck in the river and locals were unable to rescue them. The officials said that the team started the rescue operation and both the cows were taken out safely one by one from the river at Sai Ghat, 100 metres ahead of their initial position. Both cows were fine after the rescue, as per the officials.
