SDSU University clamps down on malpractices

The crackdown on malpractices during examinations in Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University is bearing positive results. The strict transparency measures adopted by the university have brought down the cases of cheating drastically as not even a single cheating incident was registered during the last examinations.

However, the university is planning to take some new steps in the forthcoming examinations to prevent malpractices. In order to prevent the tendency of copying, the stringent decisions taken by the university vice chancellor PP Dhyani have been executed in the examinations. The strict measures adopted by the university have paid rich dividends as not a single cheating case came to light this year during examination as compared to three dozen students caught for malpractices last year. This year, the vice chancellor had issued orders to cancel centres where cheating incidents were found.  Dhyani conducted surprise inspections of 22 examination centres in seven districts. The flying squads and officers of the university also conducted raids in the centres. Dhyani said, “Several teams were formed to conduct surprise raids and it was found that the cheating activity has dropped down to zero per cent. There should be complete transparency in the examination to judge the knowledge of the student thus providing equitable status and not providing any advantage to the cheaters,” he added.
