The State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar has said that the observers play an important role in the entire process of the elections of the urban local bodies. He was addressing a meeting of the general observers of the ULB elections at his office on Monday. In the meeting the SEC gave information to the observers on their role in implementation of model code of conduct, maximum expense limit of the candidates, polling and counting. He also held elaborate discussion on various aspects of the ULB polls.
The secretary, State Election Commission , Rahul Kumar Goyal gave a general briefing in which he informed about the political parties, their symbols and the number of voters. He also informed the observers about their assignments in election duty, responsibilities and power.
The joint secretary State Election Commission Kamlesh Mehta gave a presentation on the model code of conduct. In the programme the finance controller Virendra Rawat gave information about the expenditure limit and finance evaluation to the observers.
