The association of secretariat employees to start a phased agitation from September 16
Agitated by the non fulfilment of its various demands the Uttarakhand Secretariat Association has threatened to go on an indefinite strike. The association has said that the announcement of the strike would be made on October 11 in a general meeting. The powerful association of secretariat employees has also released a detailed programme for its agitation.
The president of the association Deepak Joshi said that the phased agitation would commence from October 16. In the first phase the employees would visit different sections to take a follow up of the action taken on their demands. He said that from September 20 to 22, the employees would work while wearing black armbands. On September 23 and 24, the employees would hold agitation at the secretariat gates. Joshi said that from September 29 to October 1, the employees would undertake a work boycott of two hours which would increase to a work boycott of four hours from October 4 to 6. On October 7 all the employees would be on a mass leave.
Joshi said that the association has decided to burn the copies of the government order on the golden card scheme if the issue of removing the discrepancies in the scheme is not taken up in the cabinet meeting of September 24.
The secretariat employees are demanding the benefit of old Assured Career Progression (ACP), restoration of old pension scheme, HRA to both husband and wife in case they are in government service and removal of discrepancies in the golden card scheme.
