Secretary checks arrangements for Char Dham Yatra table top exercise and mock drill

The State’s Disaster Management secretary Ranjit Kumar Sinha chaired a meeting to discuss various aspects for coordination and conduct of the proposed table top exercise and mock drill to be held from April 18 to 20 regarding the Char Dham Yatra.

The secretary talked on aspects regarding deployment of coordinating officers and wide spread public awareness regarding the mock exercise. Other aspects including details of departmental nodal officers, sector officers, incident commander’s posting, their location, number of satellite phones and other important aspects. The deployment of police personnel and the personnel of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was also discussed in the meeting. Detailed discussions were also held on other aspects including check points on Char Dham Yatra routes, entry and exit points of pilgrims on GIS platforms, disaster management plan for Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi, arrangements in Yatra control rooms, facilities for pilgrims, location and other details of NGOs and volunteers, accommodation for travelers, helicopter serices, strategy for public awareness, relief camps, hospitals and arrangements for ATMs and petrol pumps.

Additional secretaries Savin Bansal and A Srivastav were present in the meeting while the district magistrates of Uttarkashi, Pauri, Tehri, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Haridwar who were virtually present along with commander of NDRF 15th battalion, Indian Air Force officers and district disaster management officers of the districts concerned.
