Security arrangements are being stepped up in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival in Dehradun for inaugurating the Global Investors Summit on Friday. Along with tight security arrangements on the VVIP route, the operation of drones will remain completely prohibited at the venue and nearby places during the PM’s visit.
Senior police officers reviewed the security arrangements on Wednesday and issued necessary instructions to the police personnel. All the officers and personnel have been directed to remain alert while discharging their duty. During the briefing held on Wednesday, the police personnel were directed to reach their post three hours before the designated time, take necessary information about their duty from the officer in-charge and properly check their place and duty and nearby sites. Those on duty were also directed to abstain from the use of mobile phones and to not leave their duty point without informing. Strict action will be taken as per the rules against anyone found negligent while on duty.
The VVIP route in-charge was directed to properly inspect the entire route arrangement and contact the executing agency concerned for timely completion of any construction works on the route. The nodal officers were also told that the operation of drones will remain prohibited at the summit venue- Forest Research Institute- and nearby places during the Prime Minister’s visit.
