In order to provide benefits to the players, the process of selecting players under the Mukhyamantri Protsahan Yojana will commence from August 5, the Sports minister Rekha Arya said. Giving the information, Arya said that males and females aged 14 to 23 years are eligible for selection under the MPY, with 100 males and 100 females from every district eligible to benefit from this scheme. This year, the selection process will commence on August 5 at the block, municipal corporation and municipality levels, while the district-level process will start on August 12. Arya also announced that the publication of the final selection lists at the district level will start from August 19, and scholarship cheques of Rs 2,000 will be distributed to the selected players on August 29. The Sports minister further informed that the selection trials for boys and girls in Haridwar and Chamoli districts will begin at the block, municipal corporation, and municipality levels from August 21, with the district-level selection process set to start from August 30. Additionally, the publication of the list of final selected players at the district level will begin on September 7 and the scholarship amount cheques will be distributed on September 17. Arya highlighted that the MPY is effectively promoting the development of sports for the players. She emphasised that this ambitious scheme is proving to be beneficial for children who aspire to excel in the field of sports. The state government is dedicated to promoting players in rural environments, she said.
