The District Sports Office (DSO) will be organising district level selection trials for under-16 State-level hockey competition on January 8 at Maharana Pratap Sports College here. Stating this, the district sports officer Nidhi Binjola informed that the Tehri DSO will be organising a State-level hockey competition from January 17 to 20, which will also include the team from Dehradun, she said.
She further informed that for selecting the Dehradun team, DSO will be organising a selection trial for the competition on January 8. Players must bring a photocopy of their Aadhaar card, one colour photograph and a permanent residence certificate to participate in the selection trial, she added.
It will be recalled that recently, the Sports department decided to construct a mini-hockey field at the Pavilion Ground due to persistent requests from hockey players for a dedicated training ground.
