Selja reviews MNREGA Bachao campaign of Congress in Uttarakhand

The in-charge of Uttarakhand Congress, Kumari Selja reviewed the ongoing ‘MNREGA Bachao Sangram’ campaign of the party in the State in a virtual manner on Monday. In the meeting, she sought information about the programmes organised under the campaign.
She said that the letters signed by the national president of the party Mallikarjun Kharge and the leader of opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi in which they have drawn the attention of the people on the anti-people changes made by the BJP government in the right to employment in the rural areas should be taken to every village and household in the State. She said that the participation of Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI and Congress Sewa Dal should be ensured in the campaign.Selja said that on January 22, a meeting in New Delhi will be held on the issue.
Informing about the campaign in the State, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal said that programmes at district, block and village level are being organised and soon protest marches in Vidhan Sabha and State level will be organised. He further informed that Chaupals and Yatras in many assembly constituencies were also held in which people were made aware about the changes made in the rural employment guarantee programme. Godiyal said that participation of Block and district Panchayat representatives and village Pradhans is being ensured in the campaign.
The meeting was also attended by leader of opposition in Vidhan Sabha Yashpal Arya, former chief minister Harish Rawat, Congress co-in-charge Surendra Sharma, member of Congress Working Committee Gurdip Sappal, former PCC president Karan Mahara, secretary AICC Qazi Nizamuddin, chairperson of election management committee Harak Singh Rawat, MLAs Vikram Singh Negi, Manoj Tiwari, Adesh Chauhan, Virendra Jati and others.
