The convener of the Mool Niwas Bhoo Kanoon Sangharsh Samiti, Mohit Dimri has claimed that many senior officers of Uttarakhand are involved in purchase of lands in the State in gross violation of existing land laws.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday Dimri said that in Paundha area of Vikasnagar Tehsil, a posh colony is being developed for IAS and IPS officers in a 300 bigha of land. He claimed that the property dealers involved in the deal purchased the land of scheduled castes and golden forest by colluding with corrupt officials and then sold the land to senior officers of State administration.
He said that Paundha is a rural area and here outsiders are eligible to purchase only upto 250 square meters of land for residential purposes but here the land law is openly being violated. Dimri claimed that many senior officers have purchased land in the proposed colony. He said that the section 157- A of Uttar Pradesh (Uttarakhand) land abolition and land management act clearly states that no one can purchase the land of SC without permission of district magistrate but in the case of the high profile colony in Paundha this provision was violated.
Former IAS officer S S Pangati said that it is unfortunate that senior officers are involved in the violation of the land laws and demanded that such lands should be confiscated by the government.
