The seventh Selaqui Invitational Golf Championship concluded at Selaqui International School (SIS) on Saturday. Seven schools participated in the tournament organised to nurture sporting talent, promote sports and encourage camaraderie and mutual respect among the participants. The competition included teams from Mayo Girls Ajmer, Pacific Golf State, GSSS Ludhiana, Welham Girls Dehradun, The Oasis School, YPS and Saint Joseph’s, Nainital, in addition to SIS. The tournament featured categories such as under-19, under-14 and girls open. Dhruv Beniwal from SIS scored 11 points and Arunima Shahi from Mayo Girls Ajmer scored nine points.
Speaking on the occasion, the headmaster of the school, Rashid Sharfuddin educated the students about the importance of sports in moulding young minds and instilling values such as teamwork and determination.
