While busting a big sex racket running in Haldwani in Nainital district of Uttarakhand, police have arrested three men and three women. Police said that the main operator of the sex racket is from West Bengal who used to lure minor girls into prostitution.
Divulging details of the matter, SSP Pankaj Bhatt said that the anti- human trafficking unit Haldwani had received information from Basanti police station in West Bengal on May 14 that the location of the abductor of a minor girl had been found at Haldwani railway station. On receiving this information, inspector Lalita Pandey reached the railway station with her team and rescued the teenager victim from the accused Razzak Paik. Acting on the information given by the victim, the police team went to Bhotiya Padav to arrest Tania Sheikh who was allegedly running the sex racket. But Tania was not found. As the house owner was questioned, he, his son and others tried to snatch the accused Razzak Paik from police. But police foiled their attempt. The SSP directed police to arrest all the accused involved in assault case and the sex racket.
