About 9000 participants from 418 schools would take part in this year’s second SFA Championships that is starting in Dehradun from Wednesday.
The seven-day long tournament will be conducted in five venues—Pavilion Ground, Parade Ground, The Tons Bridge School, Maharana Pratap Sports College and Social Baluni Public School in Dehradun.
The chief marketing manager of the Sports For All (SFA), Samera Khan said, “The SFA Championships have proved to be an exceptional platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and kick start their sporting journey in the right way. Being home to more than 20,000 schools, Uttarakhand has worked towards creating an environment that blends quality education with sports to aid the overall growth of its students in rural as well as urban areas’’.
She said that SFA has played an important role in the National Games, Khelo India Youth Games, Khelo India University Games and is also the official partner of the Indian team for the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and Asia Games.
