SFA championship : Maharana Pratap Sports College lifts title

Maharana Pratap Sports College lifted the title of the second edition of the Sports For All (SFA) Championships Uttarakhand by clinching whopping 64 medals in the tournament which ended on Tuesday. The College won 34 gold, 21 silver and nine bronze medals and for this they were awarded a prize money of Rs one lakh along with the coveted trophy. Their best performance came in athletics wherein they secured 42 medals including 21 gold and 15 silver medals.
The tournament saw a participation of 9000 students from 418 schools across the state, competing in 13 sports at five venues in Dehradun. Defending champions Patanjali Gurukulam of Haridwar finished runners-up with 25 gold, 28 silver and 13 bronze while Shivalik Academy claimed third position with 48 medals (19 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze).
“The overall response and the participation in the second edition of SFA Championship Uttarakhand was amazing. We believe Uttarakhand has a lot of potential in sports and this championship demonstrated the talent it has,” said the CMO of SFA, Samera Khan.
