A memorandum of understanding was signed between Shri Guru Ram Rai University and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee on Tuesday. The MoU was signed on various significant aspects related to bilateral cooperation in scientific research and education. The memorandum was signed on behalf of Shri Guru Ram Rai University by its vice chancellor Uday Singh Rawat and on behalf of IIT Roorkee by its director Ajeet K Chaturvedi.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion Rawat said that under this MoU, students exchange programme will also be conducted. Faculty members, students and researchers from both the institutions will avail the opportunity of understanding, learning and sharing knowledge about the research works going on in both the institutions. Head of cancer surgery department, Dr Pankaj Kumar Garg informed that this MoU will provide impetus and dimension to the assignments in cancer research. In Uttarakhand, with the rapid increase in the cases of cancer, the work of cancer related research needs to be provided momentum.
