Shahar Qazi advises Muslims to stay home during peak Holi hours

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun

To ensure communal harmony on the day of Holi which coincides with the Friday Namaz during the Ramzan month, the Shahar Qazi, Maulana Mohammad Ahmed Qasmi appealed to the Muslim community people to refrain from going out for three to four hours on the day when the festivities peak. “If you have to venture out you must be on your guard. You must remember that if a child inadvertently throws colour on you, you must not get offended. What you should do instead is wash the colours after you return home.  This is a month on which we all must exercise patience and goodwill for all,” he added.

Hailing the beauty of the inclusive Indian culture, he said that the essence of India lies in its ability to celebrate festivals together. “This tradition is precious and it must be maintained under all circumstances.   One should respect another’s religion and we should celebrate all festivals peacefully and harmoniously,” he added.
