The newly appointed chairman of the Uttarakhand Waqf Board Shadab Shams visited the Piran Kaliyar shrine on Wednesday. He offered his prayers at the shrine and prayed for peace and harmony in the country.
In the visit Shams who drew criticism of Muslim community for his statement that Piran Kaliyar has becoming a den of human trafficking and prostitution, clarified that he was talking about the Piran Kaliyar assembly constituency and not about the shrine area. Shams said that he has deep faith in the Dargah Sharif.
