Shikhar Dhawan announces retirement from cricket

The left-handed opener for the Indian cricket team Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket through a video message he shared on his social media accounts. He said he had achieved his dream of playing for India and now it was time for him to hang up his boots.
Notably, he played his debut match against Australia in 2010 and since then he represented India in 34 Tests, 167 ODIs, and 68 T20Is in his cricket career that spanned over a decade. He had accumulated over 10,000 runs across all formats of cricket while he scored 24 centuries -17 in ODIs and 7 in Tests.
