In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Governor Lt Gen (retd) Gurmit Singh called the Silkyara tunnel rescue operation as an exemplary one while addressing a programme organised to commemorate the one year of the operation which had rescued 41 labourers trapped in the collapsed tunnel for 17 days. Also, he released books on the occasion which depicted the operation that often swung from dark despair to glimmering hope for 17 long, tense days. Along with the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, he also watched a film based on the operation which held the world on edge.
