The former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president and Chakrata MLA Pritam Singh has demanded that the State government should assess the damage caused due to heavy rain at Rateri village in Uttarkashi. He demanded this while inspecting the soil erosion and damage caused recently in the village due to heavy rainfall. Panchayat representatives and many others accompanied him during the inspection.
During the inspection, Singh found soil erosion as well as some other major damage due to heavy rain. The local residents expressed their concern and claimed that till now no representative from the State government has reached the area to take stock of the losses and damage caused in the village. Further, Singh appealed to the government to evaluate the damage as soon as possible, along with releasing the compensation to the villagers.
