Single parent male employees now eligible for CCL

The Uttarakhand government has decided to extend the benefit of Child Care Leave (CCL) to the male employees who are single parents. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the State cabinet on Thursday.
The unmarried women employees will also get the benefit of these leaves. As of now only the women employees were eligible for CCL under which a leave of two years (730 days) is given during the entire service period of the employee till the youngest child attains the age of 18 years. These leaves are given to take care of the child during illness and examinations.
Now the divorcee, widower and unmarried male employees can also claim CCL to take care of their progeny. For the employees having the specially abled children (with more than 40 per cent disability) the age limit of 18 years of age has also been waived off.
