SIR- ECI publishes Uttarakhand’s draft electoral roll

Voters’ number drops by 8,26,977, polling stations increase in State

Following the completion of the first phase of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Uttarakhand, the Election Commission of India (ECI) published the draft electoral roll (voter list) of the State on Tuesday. After removal of 8, 26,977 absent, shifted and dead (ASD) voters, the draft electoral roll now has a total of 71,33,785 voters. There are 37,23,614 male while 34,09,954 female voters in the State.
Interacting with the mediapersons here on Tuesday, the additional chief electoral officer (ACEO), Vijay Kumar Jogdande said that following the process of rationalisation, the number of polling stations in the State has now increased to 12,543 from earlier 11,733.
The ACEO informed that out of the 71,33,785 voters currently included in the draft voter list, various types of anomalies were found in 19,04,380 lakh voters. The Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and AEROs concerned will now issue notices to these voters. Jogdande said that special camps will be set up at the Nyay Panchayat level in the mountainous areas for hearing the replies of the notices. Similarly, special camps will be organised at municipal corporation, Nagar Panchayat and ward levels besides the Tehsils.
The ACEO further stated that the voters can file claims and objections on Form VI, VII VIII on the draft electoral roll from July 14 to August 13. He stated that the notice period and disposal of claims and objections will be from July 14 to September 11. The final voter list will be published on September 15.
Jogdande said that the process of SIR is being conducted in Uttarakhand based on the eligibility date of July 1, 2026. The work of distributing counting papers and digitizing the votes was completed in the State from June 8 to July 7.

Get name added in voter list by filling Form VI: Jogdande

The people whose names are not included in the draft electoral roll published on Tuesday can now get their name added in the voter list by filling Form VI. The ACEO Jogdande said that this form can be filled both offline through their respective BLO or online mode through the ECINET App. He added that the name deletions and corrections can also be made through Forms VII and VIII. For adding the name, the ECI accepts any identity card/pension payment order, identity Card issued by government/local authority/Bank/Post Office/LIC and PSU in India prior to July 01, 1987. One can also show the birth certificate, passport, matriculation certificate, permanent residence certificate or the Forest Rights Certificate. Similarly OBC/SC/ST or any caste certificate, family registers prepared by State/local authorities, land and house allotment certificate issued by the government.
