The process of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Uttarakhand is going on at a fast pace. The chief electoral officer (CEO) Uttarakhand BVRC Purushottam was informed on Monday that 99 per cent work of the distribution of enumeration forms and 92 per cent digitisation of the forms is complete. The CEO reviewed the progress of the ongoing process of the SIR in the State through a video conferencing session with the district magistrates on the day.
In the meeting, the CEO directed that all the districts should complete the process of digitizing the enumeration forms as soon as possible. The voters who have been marked in the ‘uncollectable’ category should be verified one more time. He directed that the districts where the digitization work is almost complete should start preparing for the process of reorganization of the polling stations. The CEO also directed the DEO/ERO should themselves review the booth wise list.
The CEO was informed that the process of digitisation of enumeration forms in Almora and Champawat districts is complete while 97 per cent digitization work has been completed in Bageshwar and Pithoragarh, 96 per cent in Tehri Garhwal, 95 per cent in Uttarkashi, 94 per cent in Chamoli and Pauri Garhwal, 93 per cent in Rudraprayag, 91 per cent in Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar, 88 per cent in Dehradun and Haridwar.
The CEO expressed satisfaction over the progress made by all the districts in the SIR.
Joint chief electoral officer Prakash Chandra Dumka, deputy chief electoral officer Kishan Singh Negi, assistant chief electoral officer Mastu Das along with DMs and EROs of all the districts were present in the meeting.
