SIS to investigate alleged fraud of Rs 130 crore

The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh has handed over the investigation of alleged financial irregularities and misappropriation of about Rs 130 crore in government projects to the Special Investigation Section (SIS).

He informed that SIS will investigate all six cases registered against officials concerned and construction agencies including those under the Tourism department and Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital. He said that the additional project manager of Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam, Unit-I, Sunil Kumar Malik registered these cases for the alleged financial fraud that involve people from various departments and agencies including Uttarakhand Skill Development and Employment department and Tourism.

Singh said that the cases were registered for the fraud in the projects carried out before 2018-19. The SIS will collect concrete evidence in the cases to take strict action against culprits, he added.
