Sisodia’ says state govt has closed 5K schools in U’khand

The senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia said that the state government has closed 5,000 government schools in the last five years and both BJP and the Congress want to loot the state’s resources to fill their coffers. He also challenged BJP to ask voters only to vote for them if they think they have done significant works for them in the past five years.
Sisodia who has started his three-day visit to the poll-bound Uttarakhand from Thursday said this during a public meeting in Nanakmatta constituency. He first arrived in Khatima constituency where he participated in the door to door campaign with the party’s candidate SS Kaler from the assembly seat and appealed to the locals to vote for him. He then reached Nanakmatta to address a public meeting. Addressing the public, he said, “Both Congress and BJP want votes to rob the state of its rich resources which they have been doing for the past 21 years. Both parties failed to provide employment to youths and now they are asking for votes in the name of providing employment. Both parties did not do any significant work for the public despite being in power for 10 years. School buildings have turned into ruins but nothing was done to improve the education in government schools. The BJP led government has closed 5000 schools. Education is not even on the agenda of these parties but like we have promised, AAP will form new government schools and will redevelop the old ones with quality education for all.”
Sisodia also said that BJP changed three chief ministers in the last five years but none of them worked for the state. He said, “The Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal got a chance to run the government in Delhi only for 49 days in 2013 but in those days he did considerable work which was appreciated by the public. The CM Pushkar Singh Dhami had six months but he failed to do even six works. Everybody in the government here did their own development rather than working for the public.”
He said, “I challenge BJP leaders to say to the public to only vote for their party if they have done work for them in the past five years as Kejriwal does. I know they would not dare to say it because they have done nothing here.”
