SIT files chargesheet against 96 accused in AE/JE paper leak case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Haridwar police have filed chargesheet against 96 accused in Assistant and Junior Engineers (AE/JE) recruitment examination paper leak case, said the senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh. He said that out of these 96 accused, 21 belong to the recruitment examination cheating mafia. The SIT has filed the chargesheet on the basis of concrete evidence gathered in the past few months and all culprits will be brought to justice, said the SSP.
Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) conducted the JE examination from May 7 to 10 last year and a total of 3,853 candidates were selected in this written examination. The AE examination was conducted from April 23 for four days through which 531 candidates were selected by the commission. Many accused of the AE-JE paper leak case are also allegedly involved in the Lekhpal-Patwari examination paper leak case which was held in January this year. The SIT has already filed chargesheet against 60 accused in the Lekhpal-Patwari cheating case earlier last month that include 40 candidates who allegedly bought examination papers to clear the examination.
