In latest Dehradun news, the Uttarakhand director general of police Ashok Kumar informed that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the alleged financial irregularities involving the former (now suspended) director of the State horticulture and food processing department Harminder Singh Baweja. The DGP further said that as the alleged financial irregularies pertains to more than one district of the State the ambit of the case has got expanded. The inspector general of police (CID) will head the SIT while the senior superintendent of police Almora along with the superintendent of police (CID) Haldwani will be its members. Moreover, the State agriculture department will nominate a member of the team and the head of the team will nominate two other members. The order further states that the detailed information about the members of the SIT must be conveyed to the State government. Besides, the SIT must conclude its probe at the earliest and apprise the government every month of its progress report.
