Six deaths, 577 new cases reported on Monday

The number of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) patients in Uttarakhand crossed 83000 figure mark on Monday in Uttarakhand with the state health department reporting 577 fresh cases of the disease. The state now has 83006 patients. The first case of Covid-19 was detected in the state on March 15. The department also reported the death of six patients of the disease on the day which increased the death toll from the disease in the state to 1361 on the day. The authorities discharged 707 patients of the disease from different hospitals of the state on Monday after their recovery. A total of 74525 patients have so far recovered from the disease and the recovery percentage now stands at 89.78 percent.

Two patients of Covid-19 were reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on Tuesday. One patient each was reported dead at Mahant Indiresh hospital, Dehradun, Himalayan hospital Dehradun, Vinay Vishal healthcare Roorkee and JLN District Hospital Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar.

Out of the 707 patients discharged on the day, 217 were from Dehradun, 111 from Pauri, 85 from Haridwar and 80 from Nainital.

The health authorities reported 164 new cases of Covid-19 from Dehradun, 88 from Nainital, 80 from Pauri Garhwal, 39 each from Chamoli and Haridwar, 28 each from Almora, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi, 25 from Pithoragarh, 24 from Tehri, 16 from Bageshwar, 11 from Rudraprayag and seven from Champawat.

The state now has 6144 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is maintaining its lead at top of the table of active cases with 1870 cases while with 809 active cases Nainital is at second spot. Haridwar is at third spot with 560 active cases. Pithoragarh has 435, Pauri 412, Almora 380, Chamoli 322, Tehri 328, Udham Singh Nagar 300, Uttarkashi 242, Bageshwar 186 and Rudraprayag 158 active cases of the disease. With 142 active cases of Covid-19, Champawat is at the bottom of the table.
